Research Interests

Air transportation, geospatial information systems, traffic signal design, demand forecasting


Yang has experience in working on transportation projects funded by the FAA and the National High-tech R&D Program of China. His experience in ground transportation includes working on traffic signal design and operation, signal timing optimization, traffic simulation and traffic safety. Also his experience on air transportation includes working on air traffic travel demand forecasting modeling, programming on MATLAB and database development. He is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and is skilled in various traffic analysis mathematics and statistics tools, and GIS tools, including VISSIM, Cube/TP+, MATLAB, JMP, ArcGIS serials and AutoCAD.

Yang was a 2010 recipient of the Wu Liang Chun Fellowship, awarded by Southeast University to the top 10% of students in their department of study.
