M.S.: Civil Engineering (Transportation Systems), Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (2017)
B.S.: Iran University of Science and Technology (2015)

Research Interests

Air transportation, systems engineering, operations research, simulation and modeling, network design and analysis, airport engineering, airline operations, airport surface modeling

During his time at ATSL, Navid has been working on a quick runway simulation model to estimate the hourly capacity of airports under various runway configurations with pairwise separations between individual aircraft types. Navid developed a new version of the runway simulation capacity model (RUNSIM) as part of his Master's research work. He is also working on an airport surface model which analyzes ground movements at airports, and represents optimized exit locations and taxing paths for airplanes. He could develop an event extraction tool which analyzes the taxing behaviour of airplanes at airports and extracts critical taxing events for each operation.

Navid currently serves as Webmaster of ATSL website.

He is skilled in MATLAB, Python, R, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Integrated Noise Model.
