Research Interests

Air transportation, simulation and modeling, planning


During his time with ATSL, Davide has accumulated modeling experience through development of a novel airport capacity model and a discrete choice model for U.S. commuter behavior. Davide has also done work in airport master plan development and airport pavement studies. Prior to joining the ATSL, Davide worked as a deputy venue transport manager for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games. In this role, he participated in the development and planning of bus load zone access, parking operations and associated permitting schemes and traffic management. Davide was responsible for recruiting and training and managing over 70 staff members and volunteers. Davide has experience working in the United Kingdom, Italy and in China, where he created a start-up company for an Italian aviation firm. He is a native Italian speaker, is proficient in English and is conversational in Mandarin Chinese. He is experienced with the FAA Integrated Noise Model and is skilled in the AutoCAD, STATA, SAS, R, ArcGIS, Simio, JMP, VBA and MATLAB software packages.

Davide is active with ATES, the Alliance of Transportation Engineering Students at Virginia Tech. He also enjoys participating in intramural volleyball on campus.
